Thomas Hinterberger - Lighting Design

* 1959 in Linz, active in and for independent theatre as lighting designer, technical director, actor (after training with Philipe Gaulier, Monika Bagneux and Lucienne Deschamps in Paris), theatre and radio play director since dropping out of biology studies in 1983, and on the board of IG freie Theaterarbeit from 1998-2019.

Founding member of Theater Phönix Linz, technical director at important festivals (including Ars Electronica Linz, Cour des Capucins Luxembourg), for Art Zoyd, Vorgänge, Cataracts, Lawine Torrén and others. Has worked as a lighting designer with Editta Braun since their joint beginnings at the Salzburg movement theatre Vorgänge in the 1980s until today.

Since 1993 director and lighting designer in Lithuania, Germany, Switzerland and Austria (e.g. Theater der Jugend Vienna, Theater Phönix Linz). 2000 Founded and until 2008 artistic director of the Kraud&RuamTheatre, a theatre ensemble for disabled and non-disabled actors in Hartheim / Upper Austria Since 2006 artistic director of the HörTheater series in the Stifterhaus Linz. 2004 Recognition Stage Art Prize of the Province of Upper Austria, 2007 Small Provincial Prize for Initiative Cultural Work.
